The Serbia women’s national volleyball team, which has won the FIVB Volleyball Women’s World Championship in consecutive years, was honored by Republic of Serbia President Aleksandar Vucic with a reception last week in recognition of their triumph at the most recent iteration of the illustrious competition.

After claiming gold at the World Championship for the second year in a row with a 3-0 victory against Brazil in Apeldoorn, the Netherlands, Serbia participated in the following competition.

A national team jersey signed by all of the players and members of the coaching staff was given to the President of Serbia by Tijana Bokovi, the captain and opposite hitter for the Serbian volleyball team. Bokovi was also named the Most Valuable Player at each of the previous two FIVB Volleyball Women’s World Championships. Bokovi also won the award for Most Valuable Player in both of those tournaments.

The President of Serbia played host to the women’s national volleyball team of Serbia as well as other high-ranking officials from the country’s volleyball organization.

There was also the Minister of Youth and Sports for the Serbian Government, Vanja Udovicic, as well as the President of the National Olympic Committee of Serbia, Bozidar Maljkovi, the President of the Volleyball Federation of Serbia, Zoran Gaji, the Secretary General of the Volleyball Federation of Serbia, Ivan Kneevi, the First Vice-President of the Volleyball Federation of Serbia, Gyula Mester, and the Vice-President of the Volleyball Federation of Serbia.
