The Dunlop CX line has always been about control. The frames carry thin, constant beams that promote accurate strikes, with an old-school, silky smooth feel. This latest generation of the franchise continues that formula. Tweaks to the composition increase the racquet’s stability and spin capabilities, offering even greater command over the ball. And there’s a little extra pop thrown into the mix for good measure.

The main technology for Dunlop frames continues to be Sonic Core with Infinergy. It’s a highly elastic, lightweight material located on both sides of the racquet head. It reduces vibration and has significant rebound properties for a powerful and comfortable hitting experience. The CX models contain technology all their own, and several adjustments have been made to these updates to benefit their playability.

Powergrid Stringtech+

The cross strings on the CX has been widened in the center of the string bed. This gives the frame a larger spin window and a bump in power.

Control Frame Geometry

This encompasses a few tweaks to the shape of the frame, resulting in multiple benefits. The first alteration is a change below the 2 and 10 o’clock portion of the hoop, going from a trapezium to more of a box shape. This improves the racquet’s stability and increases frame stiffness through the face and throat of the racquet. The greater composure at contact makes for more accurate shot making.

The second notable modification is a concave area fashioned inside the upper part of the hoop. This elongates the main strings, which encourages more string movement and better spin/power potential. It also thins out the face making it more aerodynamic to bolster swing speed. Finally, it increases flexibility toward the center of the hoop for greater ball pocketing and dwell time.

Vibroshield

A new vibration dampening material has been inserted at 3 and 9 o’clock positions on the face and in the throat area of the frame. This reduces harsh feedback for a more comfortable feel at contact.
